SAFER SEX STORIES

Safer Sex Stories is a 12 part film series about HIV and STI prevention and treatment that include dramatic stories, interwoven with graphics, in-depth information, and animations. Together, the videos create an engaging series.

HIV and STI prevention and treatment options are rapidly changing, and this series represents the best information at the time of filming. These videos can be a great educational resource, and can be useful to watch before meeting with one’s doctor to discuss health issues more in depth. All of the main actors are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, are performing in American Sign Language, and the videos include English voice-overs and captions for accessibility. Massachusetts Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH) started pre-production of Safer Sex Stories in the fall of 2018 when the agency entered an Interagency Service Agreement (ISA) with the Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Science under the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
